Governments Worst Agency

Everyone knows the United States Government often falls down in their duties. Although over all the country is great and for the most part seems to work, there are several agencies that get an "F" on their report cards from some who act as government watchdogs. In my opinion there is no bigger waste of taxpayer's money than that of the Federal Trade Commission. Having studied a few cases it appears obvious that this worthless agency cannot seem to do anything right. The sooner we close this agency or reduce its budget the better. All money spent in the agency is completely wasted. They cannot get rid of SPAM, it is up over 3000% since they started working on it. Identity theft issues in our country have run ramped and the FTC need to answer some of those Viagra SPAM adds as they are utterly impotent in their enforcement of this as well.

The FTC broke up AT & T and today we have many vertically and horizontally integrated communication companies. The FTC went after Microsoft after the consumer voted with their dollar for them. The computer user voted for bundling of software and operating systems. The entire case was based on competitor complaints. There was no predatory pricing, Microsoft sold their products consistently lower or even in many cases gave them away. In the Franchising Industry we learn of one case where bad profiling, embellished creative writing and grandstanding trumped the reality of their purported Truth, Justice and the American Way. The FTC fined Petco after they were hacked by a criminal, instead of putting the criminal in jail. Abuses of power at the FTC run so deep that their well will never run dry as they dig towards China, while attacking America's greatest companies. Then there is the myth of the predatory pricing issue and case of the Great Northern Railroad. The FTC attacked "Phonics" when the teachers' union complained, even though it works and 85% of those using it could read sooner than those who did not. When it comes to Monopolies, anyone with half a brain knows that it is government who creates monopolies thru favoritism not companies. When companies compete everyone wins. The FTC is a complete joke of free enterprise, holding up the weak and purporting truth thru press releases to get next years budget money. Please spare us the Media Hype. The Federal Trade Commission takes the prize as the very worst government agency in our nation and is hereby acknowledged by this author.
